WindSlayer 2
WindSlayer 2
WindSlayer 2 There are mainly two types of free-to-play video games out there for gamers to play online. The first of them are low budget browser-based games which offer simplistic gameplay and do not need a powerful computer for you to operate them. Then theres the other type of free-to-play video games that have very high production values and rival games that you can buy out in retail stores. WindSlayer 2 falls into the latter category and is one of the most enjoyable free-to-play video games I have ever played. WindSlayer 2 is a 2D MMORPG game. Unlike most other MMORPG games, its a side-scolling platform game much like many games were made back in the 80s and early 90s. Thats not to say WindSlayer 2 has simplistic visuals as this game has lovely bright graphics that should be implemented in more games in my opinion. With war-torn video games such as Modern Warfare 3 and Battlefield 3 being made these days, its great to see a game that features cheerful looking levels and character models. Although this is to be expected from Asian game developers as most of their games breathe colorful and bright graphics. Before you start playing WindSlayer 2, you have the chance to create the appearance of your main character. Unlike in other games, you dont have to choose a specific class to be, or you need to do is pick either a male or female character and change their look. The character models are small and cute that fans of Japanese anime cartoons will enjoy. I created a girl that resembled Bubbles from the Powerpuff Girls… The gameplay is smooth and the controls are easy to grasp even if you are a beginner. WindSlayer 2 may not feature the hardcore combo attacks seen in Elsword but I guess this was done on purpose to cater for a younger audience judging by its cutesy appearance. Even the enemies you face look cute that I even felt a little guilty about hurting them. At the start of the game you can beat up a bunch if hopping rabbits and even creatures that resembles Pikachu from Pokemon. You will face other tougher enemies as you progress further into the game but its funny how the enemies dont look that menacing. As aforementioned, the production values seen in WindSlayer 2 are very high and very satisfying. Not only are the visuals stunning to look at, but the audio is also top notch as well. Although the game lacks full voice-overs like in Wizards 101, other areas such as the soundtrack and sound effects are excellent. The music changes depending on the area that you are visiting. It has memorable and catchy music that will stick inside the head of the gamer long after theyve played the game. Its one of those rare soundtracks I would like to download and listen to on my MP3 player. In terms of the game design, the levels in this game are huge. You are not restricted only exploring in one area like you are in Elsword. You can simply travel to other areas and face off against tough baddies even if you are on a lower level. I was on level 9 when I decided to travel and see what other environments this game offers. I stumbled across a futuristic metallic city full of robots that were at level 18! This level of non-linear gameplay is sorely lacking in lots of other games out recently and its good to see you can go out and explore any level you want in WindSlayer 2. As fun as it is fighting enemies in Windslayer 2, you can also enter the arena to fight against other players. You have to reach a specific level first in order to do this which makes fights fairer. I remember another MMORPG did not have this feature and a high level player kept challenging me to fights even though I was at level 4. Its good to see that you have to enter a specific area to fight other players can they cannot bother you when you are busy completing a quest. One thing I would criticize about the game is that some of the mission can get repetitive. Most of the quests involve you collecting specific items of defeating lots of the same enemies. Although combat in this game is fun and you can learn more techniques as you progress further into the game. Its not the boring simulated turn-based combat system that you often see in other RPG games… Windslayer 2 is right up there with Elsword and Wizards 101 as one of the best free-to-play video games Ive ever played. The production values truly shine and make this game better than even games Ive paid full price for. If you love a game that involves hours of adventure and stunning cartoon visuals, Windslayer 2 is definitely a game you should look into.
Hands of War 2 Expanded Edition
Hands of War 2 Expanded Edition
Hands of War 2 Expanded Edition Play the extended version of Hands Of War 2, with extra classes and content. Enter the civil war, choose your side and battle your enemies on this epic quest to unite the broken shards of the Heartstone. Hands of War 2 is a free to play RPG game that is played in a classic birds eye view point of view. If anybody has ever played the original Grand Theft Auto games on the PSOne, you will know exactly the kind of viewpoint you will be playing in Hands of War 2. Gamers, who like the traditional gameplay camera viewpoint of being behind the character, will certainly be in for a big shock when they play Hands of War 2. The top down view point isnt bad once you get used to it, however new school gamers might have a harder time adjusting to the awkward camera viewpoint. In the land of Hands of War 2, there are two factions called the Phoenix and the Guardians. Civil War is occurring and between them and at the start of the game, you actually have a choice to join either side. There isnt really anything done at the start of the game to convince you to join either side other than a sign. The Phoenixs sign have Revenge on it while the Guardians have Honor. It doesnt matter too much which side you join as you will just be doing numerous quests which make up the bulk of gameplay in Hands of War 2. Moving around in Hands of War 2 can be a bit of a hassle to do. Although there are some helpful signs with arrows to guide you on your journey, your character seems to walk far too slowly that it kind of gets boring. The game would have benefitted a lot if there was an option so your character could sprint. Getting to one place to another in Hands of War 2 feels like youre controlling an old lady and not a young fit warrior… A feature that might deter some gamers is that theres not an option to save the game anytime that you want. You will have to find rest areas to save the game. Other RPG games save your game automatically even when you have closed down your browser window. Although save points have been a common feature for console RPG games, it would have been useful if saving was done automatically. One thing that is done correctly in Hands of War 2 is that combat is in real time. You will see enemies on the screen and you can attack them at anytime. Combat is easy to do as you have a few skills preset on your keyboard that you can use, or you can hack away with your weapon using the left button on your mouse. Either way, its great to see actual real combat in this title. There are far too many free to play RPG games where combat is either turn based of fully simulated. The A.I. in Hands of War 2 is worth criticizing however. A team of mine was about to ambush the opposition. Once we were in enemy territory, it didnt appear as if they knew we were there to kill them. It was until we attacked them with our swords first did they finally react to our onslaught. Even then, some of the other soldiers in the background failed to realize we were killing their buddies. Although some other enemies in the game can be more smart and chase you the moment they see you. Another great thing about Hands of War 2 is that there is sound and a nice sounding soundtrack to listen throughout the entire game. Most other free to play games dont have any kind of music or sound so its great to see this all included in this game. It breathed more life into the game by having such high quality audio. The only thing is doesnt have are voice actors. This is to be expected since most free games dont have the kind of money to include voice actors into their games. Hands of War 2 doesnt break any new boundaries when it comes to the RPG genre. Old school gamers that loved playing the 80s and 90s Legend of Zelda games will find some enjoyment playing Hands of War 2. For everyone else, the camera view and small character models may deter you from playing the game. Nevertheless, if youre a fan of RPG games in general, it shouldnt hurt to give this game a go. After all, its free to play.
