Pardus
Pardus
Pardus Pardus Game Review Pardus is a free to play browser game set in the far fetches of space. You are a little pilot trying to make it big throughout the universe. As with most other games, you start off being very poor and piloting a small and unstylish looking spaceship. In order to make a name for yourself, you must increase your wealth and power so you can pilot better ships and become known as the best thing in the Pardus universe. Doing all this is easier said than done as with very great success story, it all has a humble beginning. In order to increase your wealth you must accept quests to do. One of the first things you have to do is is to just collect some resources for your ship. Piloting your ship is very easy, but be warned not to travel too far. If you do, you will run out of fuel and you’ll be stuck. Thankfully, there’s an emergency booster that allows you to move in situations like this. Fuel is littered throughout the game field so there’s no fear of having to restart the game again… The mandatory tutorial level is great for all beginners to start off with as there lots of things you will have to learn to get the most out of Pardus. There’s even a helpful chat feature incorporated into the game so you can ask at any time some advice from other players if you find yourself stuck on something. The online community in Pardus is friendly and chatty so you will always know there’s somebody there to help you out. The chat feature also translates everything in English so even international speaking players can talk with you. The presentation in Pardus is very disappointing to say the least. It’s quite boring playing a game which has no music and sound to speak of and the visuals are lacking too. The navigation screen is very small and the graphics are better suited for a game made in the late ‘80s. Considering other browser-based games such as Battlestar Galactica Online has full 3D visuals, it’s kind of hard to play a game that has very outdated graphics. Selling and collecting resources may not sound fun, but as your further progress in Pardus, you can get to do more exciting activities. This includes being a criminal and stealing or raiding other players’ resources. Combat in this game is turn-based and is not as interactive as I’d hoped it would be. It’s quite lacking in the action department and not to the exciting level of other games from the genre. Pardus is also a very slow-paced video game. If you’re used to the fast-paced nature of games like Call of Duty, Pardus is certainly not the game for you. Collecting resources and trying to navigate your way through the large game map could be overwhelming for some players. Nevertheless, more open-minded gamers can find hours of entertainment in Pardus as there are a lot of quests that you can undertake. Pardus is a free mmo browser based game settled into the future where space traders, pirates and other pilots of various races and factions strive to gain wealth and fame in space continuum. With a ship movement animation you will also be able to see the direction other player' ships are facing, regardless of their animation settings. Instructions: using the arrow keys and or the numeric keypad, navigate your space ship.

Battlestar Galactica
Battlestar Galactica
Battlestar Galactica Battlestar Galactica Online is a video game based upon the science fiction TV series of the same name. This game follows the events from the more recent TV series previously seen on the Sy-Fy network and not from the 1978 original. The game pits you right in the middle of the war between the robotic “Cylons” and the Human faction known as the “Colonial”. Bear in mind, this game takes quite a long time to load depending on the quality of your computer due to its fancy 3D graphics. If you have an older computer, be prepared to wait before you can actually play the game. Before you begin Battlestar Galactica Online, you have a choice on what faction you want to play as. It doesn’t really matter what side you choose, although there are some bonuses waiting for you if you choose to play as the Cylons. As in every video game, before any action take place you’re forced to play the tutorial level. You have the option of skipping the tutorial but it’s best to go through it as this isn’t the type of game you can just pick up and play. You get to control a cool-looking spaceship and fly through the emptiness of space. The graphics are fully rendered in 3D and accurately captures the look and atmosphere of the TV show perfectly. There’s a tense and suspenseful score playing in the background and the game has full audio too. Hearing the intensity of laser blasts and missiles launching all around you can be a very blockbuster experience. It reminded me of the time I watched a Star Wars movie in the cinema for the first time – the sound really is that good. While playing the game, you have a choice to dispose your enemies with laser blasts or missiles. Targeting in the game is easy as all you have to do is highlight any enemies in using your mouse and fire away. Some targets can be tricky to hit as they can be out of your range. No worries as you have the option to use your throttle to fly fast through space with ease. It may not be as fast as the hyperdrive in Star Wars’ Millennium Falcon, but flying and blasting enemies in space is can be loads of fun. Its unfortunate most game developers focus on real-world combat and don’t delve into science fiction anymore. It would have been a much more user-friendly experience if you were able to use the keyboards to navigate your ship around the battlefield. Sometimes clicking on the mouse has its moments as you may press the wrong button a couple times. I wanted to shoot my lasers but several times ended up dying because I pressed to see the map instead. Not only that, but the game is quite difficult to say the least. Sometimes you’re put right in the middle of a firefight and there’s no choice but to eliminate all the targets. This is easier said than done as flying your spaceship while shooting is difficult to achieve while using only the mouse. Like I said before, the use of keyboards or even a controller would have resulted in a more enjoyable experience. As you further progress into the game, you will have the option of upgrading your ship. This includes upgrading the ship’s thrusters so it can travel faster or improve on its firepower. There’s not much in the way customizing the appearance of the ship, although the ships already look stylish in my opinion anyway. Fans of the TV show may be slightly disappointed that characters from the show rarely make an appearance in the game. The only thing they do is appear up on the game’s HUD and tell you what to do basically - though fans of the show will notice various references here and there from time to time. Battlestar Galactica Online is one browser-based title with very high production values. The game could have easily been a full-priced PC game but you can play the game for now for free. Fans of the TV series will have a blast playing the game while fans of science fiction in general will love the aerial space warfare that this game offers. If the controls were more user-friendly it would have been a much better game.
