Cabal Saints Requiem Cabal Saint's Requiem Review Cabal Saints Requiem is a free to play MMORPG available for you to download online. Unlike the upbeat happy appearance I experienced while playing another MMORPG called Iris Online, Cabal Saints Requiem takes a more realistic approach and the graphics and character models look more life like than the cartoony appearance from some other MMORPG games I have played recently. If you have played a MMORPG game before, you should come to expect that the first thing you will ever do is create the type of main character you will like to play as. Some other MMORPG games offer you a lot of options to create many varied looks for your character. One of my favorites is a game called Epic Duel where you can even give them pink skin and hair! Sadly, this is not the case with Cabal Saints Requiem as the create options are one of the most limited I have ever seen in a MMORPG game before. You cannot alter the height or body shape of your character nor can you alter their skin color. If you want to create someone that looks like an alien, I suggest you play another game. There are six classes for you to choose that include the following: Warrior, Blader, Wizard, Force Archer, Force Shielder and Force Blader. Once you have picked your desired appearance and class type, you are then ready to venture off and play Cabal Saints Requiem. Before you do that, you have to type in your second password. It is a good security measure for this game to use since there are a number of people out there who love to hack into your accounts or want to anyway. I experienced lots of people wanting my account while playing another game called Epic Duel. Before you play the game though, be sure to check your computer is powerful enough to play the game. As aforementioned, the graphics in Cabal Saints Requiem are impressive and realistic and my 1GB ram computer struggled at times to handle playing the game. In the end, I managed to play it, although it is best advised you play this game using a 2GB ram computer or more to experience no lag. In terms of gameplay, the controls are comfortable and it is one of the only MMORPG games to make use of the keyboard for you to move around your character. I find this more comfortable as pointing and clicking your character using the mouse just for them to move around gets repetitive. It is also one of the very few MMORPG games that does not make use of the point and click controls to fight enemies either. Each character has a set of skills that you can assign using the number keys on your keyboard. Each number represents a different skill so it is best you press the skill you would like to use most. Characters have a lot of different skills in their repertoire and you can dish out a lot of impressive looking combos with a mix of both physical and magic attacks. Monster design in this game is freakishly frightening. The monsters are based on real life animals but they have their own weird twist. The first type of enemy you will face is a praying mantis. Normally these insects are small but in this game, they are the same as humans! There are a plethora of other unworldly monsters littered throughout the game they will surprise even the most hardcore gamer. One thing that may deter some people is that your health bar does not regenerate as fast as in other MMORPG games. This may cause some frustration if you are battling against multiple enemies at once. Although you can help your troubles by stocking up on a lot of potions! Maps in this game are small although you can transport yourself to many different worlds using portals. This is unlike in other MMORPG games where you can venture off into the distant sun in one huge sprawling landscape. Although loading times can be a bit of a pain while you are moving from one world to another, I liked this as it means the game can still maintain a high level of visual quality as a result. I tend to notice that games with large worlds with no loading times tend to look outdated in terms of their graphics. Cabal Saints Requiem is a highly enjoyable MMORPG game with excellent graphics and comfortable controls. Not to mention the combat system is better than in most other games from the same genre. Bear in mind, you may want to play this game on a powerful computer as the game will struggle to perform if played on an inferior machine. Nevertheless, if you have the required specs to play the game, I highly recommend that you play this game.

Soul of Guardian
Soul of Guardian Soul of Guardian is an enjoyable MMORPG game available to play online. The game is relatively new as it was only released in March 2012. Much like Heroic Odyssey (another MMORPG game), this game has modern day graphics and some pretty high production values that make it a step above most other free to play browser based video games out there. Much like every other MMORPG game out there, you can choose to be a male or female character to play as in the game. But unlike in other MMORPG games, you cannot alter the actual appearance of your character. This can be seen as a slight disappointment since its always enjoyable spending several minutes customizing the look of your own character. Before you start playing Soul of Guardian, there’s the choice to play as four different class types. First up there’s the Blade Warrior class which is high on accuracy. The next class is the Hammer Judge which has high attack and defence. Another class is the Spear Guard which has high dodging ability and resilience. Lastly, you have the Dagger Assassin which is a balance of all of the aforementioned class types. Soul of Guardian play very similarly to another browser based MMORPG game called Heroic Odyssey. Both games were released in 2012 so if you’re a fan of the genre, you’ll have two great games to play. Graphically, the game isn’t the as good looking as Heroic Odyssey but it’s not bad either. The bright and colorful visuals truly shine here and RPG fans will love the overall design of the game. Speaking of design, the illustrations and character models in the game are eye catching as well. There are many creatures you will encounter in Soul of Guardian that vary in size and design. One of my favorite characters in the game is your accompanying pet called the “Wee Panda”. If you’ve ever watched the famous “Kung-Fu Panda” movies before, your companion looks exactly like Po from the films. The panda also helps you out during fights too. There’s also a cool blue wolf you can ride on to get to the many places in the game. One of my favorite features in the whole game is the soundtrack. The music sounds like something you might hear from an epic Hollywood fantasy-based film more than from a free to play video game. The music changes each time you enter a new area and it’s a pleasure to listen to. The music definitely draws inspiration from the LOTR trilogy or even Final Fantasy XII for that matter. Much like Heroic Odyssey, Soul of Guardian has the neat feature of adding the “auto-navigation” system. This is helpful for games like this where you need to traverse to many places talking to many different characters littered throughout the game’s universe. There have been countless other games I’ve played where I got lost even while checking the map for directions. Thankfully, you don’t have to worry about any of that here in Soul of Guardian. There are also items you can collect called “flying shoes” which enable you to teleport to certain places too. Flying shoes are limited though so you cannot use them all the time… The weakest aspect of Soul of Guardian has to be the combat system. It’s a simple point and click affair and the AI aren’t all that smart either. This is the same type of problem that plagued Heroic Odyssey as well. The game gets better though as you progress as the enemies get tougher and you’re forced to partner up with other players to take your enemies down. It’s also great to know you can learn new skills in this game and that the combat is not fully simulated. Still, it’s an area that I feel needs improving on. Soul of Guardian is an excellent MMORPG game that fans of Heroic Odyssey will love to play. The graphics and gameplay are great and it’s a game that never gets boring. Some of the quests in the beginning might get repetitive, although you level up pretty quickly in this game which makes the game fast paced and exciting. The combat is a little weak, but it’s something you will get used to over time. The best part of Soul of Guardian in my opinion is the soundtrack though. All in all, if you have some free time on your hands, why not use that time to play Soul of Guardian.
