Each empire is represented by either a male or female representative. You can choose to be a male or female character and then you are promoted to the games tutorial. The tutorial isnt mandatory as theres the nifty option of skipping it altogether. Its advisable that you go through the entire tutorial so you wont feel lost as theres no going back. Uprising Empires is your typical style of MMORTS game so anyone who has played this genre before will probably know what to expect out of this game. Uprising Empires probably doesnt offer anything unique to the genre to be honest with you. Its a straight up RTS game where collecting resources, constructing buildings and recruiting soldiers takes up the majority of the gameplay. Gamers who are more into city building games will like this game more than other people will. The reason I say that is because Uprising Empires offers no high action production values to keep you enthralled throughout your playing time. Theres no music to speak of playing in the background nor is there any sound effects included in this game either. Playing in silence gets very boring after a while and detracts you from being immersed into the game world. Another thing this game lacks is action. Sure you can recruit soldier to attack other faction and cities, but you dont actually get to see any of that. You cannot control you soldiers to attack like you can in other RTS games and you dont even get to see them walking around too. Its a very basic and rather boring feature of just clicking attack and then seeing a report card whether you have won or lost the battle. This is not a game I can recommend for gamers looking for high-octane action sequences thats for sure. Graphically, Uprising Empires is nothing special. It lacks the impressive visuals of a comparable RTS game like Reborn Empire. Not only that but the games objectives are what we should come to expect from a typical RTS game. You just end up doing a bunch of quests that to build up your own city to create a string army so you can challenge and conquer other players who may be playing this game. There are no unique features Uprising Empires offers that separate it from the plethora of other free to play MMORTS games out there. One good thing about Uprising Empires is that there is a healthy community of players who are currently playing this game right now. According the Facebook app for the game, there are over 20,000 active monthly players. Also, the game only came out fairly recently and depending on the games popularity, this number is expected to grow. There is also an active chat system included In Uprising Empires too so if youre stuck on the game for any reason, theres always someone out there who can help you out on any queries you might have. Uprising Empires was not the most enjoyable MMORTS games Ive ever played since the game did not offer anything special. The setting the overall gameplay has been done countless times before and RTS veterans wont find anything new to experience here. Still, its a free to play video game so if you are a fan of RTS games, give this game a try to see if it might appeal to you more. DragonSoul DragonSoul is a freetoplay MMORPG game that you can play on the PC. One thing PC users will be thankful for is that this game only takes 600MB for you to download it. The waiting time isnt as unbearable if you wanted to download the 25GB behemoth that is DC Universe Online. I had no technical problems downloading and installing the game like with some other games Ive played in the past, so you dont need to worry about the game not working on an older laptop or computer model. Another thing MMORPG veterans will know is that you will always have to create an original character to be before you can start playing the game. DragonSoul is no different as once you log in; you are immediately sent to the character creation screen. As always, there are nice options for you to customize the appearance of your chosen character. You can pick to be a male or female character changing their clothes and hairstyle to fit your personal preference. Apart from choosing the way your character looks, you are also required to choose the class you want to be as well. There are four classes that you can choose from that include the following: Warrior, Hunter, Mage and Assassin. Each class specializes in a different area of combat so choose the class that best suits your personal gameplay style. After you have done that, youre off to ancient China to explore the world of DragonSoul. Graphically, the game is not a visual beast like other freetoplay MMORPG games like DC Universe Online and Wizards 101, however they look great considering the game is only a 600MB download. Not to mention the game runs pretty smoothly even though I was playing the game on a 1GB ram laptop. Im sure the game will run even better if you were playing the game on a 2GB or 4GB computer. Nevertheless, the game environment is huge and the draw distance isnt as bad like if you were playing on an old PSOne game. One thing I would criticize about the visuals are that the environments lack any significant detail. They are not at pretty as in other free toplay MMORPG games Ive encountered. Especially since this game was released in 2011 and not in 2004. Gameplay wise, MMORPG fans should expect the same style of gameplay of talking to a lot of nonplayable characters and accepting to undertake quests for them. At the start of the game, you start off in a humble little village doing many mundane tasks for the inhabitants. Sometimes I question why these characters cant do these tasks themselves. I understand they cannot fight big enemies but Im very sure theyre able to walk a few meters to relay a message to their friends. Thankfully, combat is not turnbased or simulated so you can expect to have full control over your character during each battle. Enemies are situated on the game map itself and you are not transported to a separate screen like in some other RPG games. Personally, I prefer this style of gameplay mechanics more as its more action orientated. Not to mention is its a lot more fun to play. A main aspect in DragonSoul that differentiates itself from other MMORPG games is its heavy focus on adopting pets. This game isnt like Pokemon, but you do have the option to adopt a variety of pets that can aid you in battle. You start off small adopting little animals such as a rabbit, frog and a mantis. You can level them up as well to make them stronger. As you progress, bigger animals will be available to you such as a bear and a fox just to name a few. There are even animals that you can ride on so you dont have to traverse the large landscape on foot. Players can choose to ride on the traditional horse or even on a cute chubby panda. Much like the pets, other animals will become available to you the further you progress into the game. This is a very awesome feature that should be included in other games in my opinion. Another major aspect of DragonSoul is the PvP combat. Unlike other games where you battle oneonone, in DragonSoul you have the option to join a Kingdom and engage in large scale PvP battles. It feels like you are in a movie set fighting in a large battle like the many epic scenes from the Lord of the Rings movies. Its a unique feature of this game and lets hope more game developers incorporate this feature in the near future. DragonSoul is a highly enjoyable freetoplay MMORPG game that doesnt take too much time to download or load on your computer. Although some people might say that the graphics are outdated, the visuals are decent enough so people with older computers will have to trouble playing the game. The combat, PvP battles and many pets that are featured in this game are the best aspects of DragonSoul. If youre looking to play an excellent MMORPG game, than DragonSoul is a something you should look at.

Eden Eternal Eden Eternal is a MMORPG game that is free to play and developed by Chinese game developer, X-Legend. Being that this game is developed by an Asian game developer, the visuals are heavily inspired by Japanese style cartoon animes. In terms of the appearance of the game, its in 2D and resembles that of the Xbox 360 s Tales of Vesperia which was released back in 2008. I really admire the 2D cartoon appearance of Eden Eternal a lot. Most other MMORPG games are in 3D so its a nice surprise to that this game breaks from the normal 3D presentation that has been implemented in the genre. As always, you start off by creating the main character that you will be controlling in the game. Players who want to create a big masculine warrior will be disappointed as theres no option for you to do that in Eden Eternal. The only types of characters you can create are traditional Japanese style characters who are usually young kids with big eyes. Once you have created your character, you can start entering the world of Eden Eternal. The great thing about the game is its presentation. Unlike with Allods Online, theres actually a nice introductory cutscene for you to view so you can familiarize yourself with the games story. You play a character that is trapped inside a blue crystal with no memory before you were found. As you progress further into the game, you will have to find clues on what happened to you and in the surrounding areas that populates the world in Eden Eternal. You also have to find out why you have mysterious magic powers as well. Like most other MMORPG games, the bulk of gameplay mainly sees you completing quests for NPCs that can be found around the many towns that populate the world in Eden Eternal. Most of the quests involve you defeating monsters of some sort. Not that this is a bad thing as combat is surprisingly additive here in Eden Eternal. Unlike with Allods Onlline, you can choose to auto attack in Eden Eternal. This means once you have highlighted a specific enemy you want to defeat, your character will automatically attack them. Theres no tedious requirement for you to keep bashing the mouse button all the time like in Allods Online. What is also great about the game is that you can perform both physical and magical attacks. Again this is a great feature as in most MMORPG games, you can only use one or the other. Although as aforementioned this game is in 2D, this doesnt mean you will dont need a pretty good computer in order for the game to run smoothly. Its recommended requirements is that you have 1GB RAM or more available on your computer. If you dont meet this requirement and would really like to play this game, its about time to upgrade your computer as a result of this. Eden Eternal is a high quality MMORPG that is completely free toplay and download. The graphics are very impressive and the gameplay is simple enough for anybody to follow. All in all, this game is a lot of fun to play, just make sure your computer is powerful enough to play it before you decide to download it.
