Each starting area has its own starting level of population of which you can work with. Again, a nice touch that enables you to have a little more influence on your gameplay. Questing, particularly earlier on happens fast and there are a lot of screens that you click through as you follow arrows pointing you the right way. If there is a downside to this its that it all happens a little too fast that you simply end up clicking where the arrows tell you to and you dont really take in what is happening. Other than that, it moves at a fast pace and before you know it your city is well and truly on its way to being built. As well as being able to build armies, you also have the chance to hire heroes. These are important additions to your army and are able to help you with running your city. Golden Age is a typical RPG with plenty of text for you to read and a lot of planning around what you want to be doing next. Its going to appeal to the gamer that specifically enjoys the genre as anyone who doesnt will find it a little too heavy going.
