Command and Conquer TA

Command and Conquer TA Command and Conquer: Tiberian Alliances Review EAs famous Command and Conquer series is considered by many to be the granddaddy of all RTS video games. When the first Command and Conquer game was released back in 1995, it spawned a genre that many people know and love today with lots of other RTS games flooding the market from then on. Command and Conquer: Tiberian Alliances is the latest iteration in the long running series and is a free to play browser based video game. The only thing you need to do in order to play this game is to create an EA Origin account. This is fairly easy to do and its free to register as well. Unlike other Command and Conquer games before it, Tiberian Alliances does not include any storyline. Once the game first loads up, you are tasked to pick which faction you want to be a part of. There are the Global Defense Initiative GDI and the Brotherhood of Nod NOD factions to choose from. It doesnt matter which side you choose since there is no storyline and each faction plays pretty much the same anyway. Graphically, Command and Conquer: Tiberian Alliances is not pushing any new boundaries. Considering the game is developed and published by EA one of the biggest gaming companies in the world, youd think that they would have done more effort in the visuals department. Even though this game was released in May 2012, the visuals resemble something that was released in 2001 instead. I understand visuals arent important to everyone, although it looks severely outdated compared with other recent free to play MMORTS games Ive played. Much like with most other MMORTS video games, your goal is fairly simple. Its pretty much just collecting a lot of resources so you can construct a strong enough army to challenge other gamers. Once you become strong enough, you can expand your empire and do the same thing all over again. The premise of the game sounds pretty simple but a lot of time and patience is needed to fully enjoy Tiberian Alliances. In order to collect enough Army and Command points to build your strong army, it takes a long time for you to achieve this. This is because you have to upgrade certain buildings to a certain level first before you can have access to a certain military unit and so forth. EA has cunningly did this on purpose as you will have to pay actual money if you want to level up faster in this game. Combat in Command and Conquer Tiberian Alliances is pretty enjoyable. Most of your military units lineup in a straight line and will fight head-on to the enemy. Witnessing you units fight it out as very entertaining to watch and there are a lot of nice animated explosion effects to marvel at too. It might be slow to construct your army at first, but watching battles unfold in real time make it worth it in the end. Command and Conquer Tiberian Alliances is not a bad video game, although one would expect more from a game being released from EA. As I mentioned before, EA is one of the biggest gaming companies in the world yet the production values in this game dont show it. The graphics are horribly outdated and if you dont choose to invest real money into this game, you will have a slow paced and uneventful experience. Only hardcore Command and Conquer fans will find Tiberian Alliances fun to play.
