Dragon Blood Game Review

Dragon Blood is a free to play MMORPG that is playable online. It is playable via a web browser so no additional downloading is required. If you have a decent computer, you should be able to play this game easily without any technical hiccups.

The first thing that you have to do after you sign up and register is to choose the class and character you want to play as. The character and class selection at the start of Dragon Blood is minimal at best. There are only two classes to choose from as there is a Mage and Knight. You can choose if you want to be a male or female and that’s about it. You cannot customize the look of the characters as the only thing you can alter is the name. You just have to play as the preset designs that the game chooses for you.

After a long loading time, you can then start playing the actual game itself. The story is a typical save the damsel in distress scenario. You are told that the princess has been kidnapped by monsters and it’s up to you to save her. The story is only told through text so you won’t see any epic cutscenes or anything of that nature. When you start playing the game, you will notice that Dragon Blood’s presentation is not all that different from a lot of other free browser games. It adopts 2D graphics with an isometric camera viewpoint. It also uses the “autopilot” mechanic that doesn’t require the player to manually walk to their next destination. All you have to do is click on the quest button and your character will immediately start walking to their next goal.

The game is a typical point and click style of game as the mouse is the only button that you need in order to play it. However, things start to get more interesting the longer you play it as you unlock more party members and pets/mounts that can aid you in battle. The more you play the game, the more stuff gets unlocked. Instead of the usual hacking style of gameplay that is often used by browser MMORPG games , Dragon Blood uses the old-school turn-based combat. There are several attacks that you can choose to select at the bottom of the screen. The attacks vary in helpfulness and strength. Not to mention you can only use the more powerful attacks at certain times before you have to wait for it to replenish. Some attacks just hit one enemy while others affect everyone.

The best thing you can do in the game is recruit more members to your party. The party members help you out in battle making combat easier. You are able to position them how you want on the battlefield so they can bear the brunt of all the attacks of the enemy and so forth. You can even recruit a dragon to your team and they deal a lot of damage. The game is not just battles against the AI either as there is a PvP arena where you can play with other gamers online.

The visual presentation in Dragon Blood is pretty good. The graphics and character designs are pretty and the HUD doesn’t get too cluttered like it does in other browser MMORPGs . The dragons are the best thing in the game as they are huge and look menacing. The game only lacks in the audio department, but the background music isn’t bad and it entertains you throughout the entire game.

Overall, Dragon Blood does not push the boundaries when it comes to the MMORPG games genre as it is similar to a lot of other games other there. However, the ability to recruit party members and get a dragon is the main selling points of the game. Not to mention it’s a game that beginners will be able to grasp quite easily as the learning curve is not steep. It is worth playing since it’s free to play and easy to set up.
