Dragonbone Dynasty is a free to play MMORPG that is playable using your computer’s browser. Unlike many other browser-based video games, this one has been rendered in 3D. The graphics pop out a lot more than a lot of the 2D style browser-based video games that are made. At the start of the game, you are required to choose the main character you want to play as. The three class types that are available are a Barbarian, a Sorcerer and then a Rogue. Each class have their own strengths and weaknesses as displayed on the bottom right hand corner of the screen. Choose wisely who you want to play as.

This game does not allow you to customize the look of your own character as you can only choose to be either a male or female character based on preset designs. This is no biggie, but it would have been cooler if you could make your own design for your character. After you have made your choice, you can start playing the game. Dragonbone Dynasty adopts the automated style of RPG gameplay that a lot of other video games like to use. This means you can effectively just press one button and your character will do everything for you. It may not be as engaging as many MMORPGs out there, but it’s a popular subgenre as many people still like this style of gameplay.

Graphically, I love the visual style of this game. As I mentioned before, the 3D character models pop out of the screen. It looks as if the game has been made via clay animation. Not to mention the character and environmental design is to be commended. It has been inspired by Japanese animation with the cute looking human characters mixed with the huge and menacing enemies that you have to face. In terms of its story, it’s a little cliché. Basically many monsters are invading the land and you are forced to fight them off. The story isn’t bad, but it’s not unique enough for you to really care. There are also a lot of dialogue boxes that you have to read and this can get kind of boring. This game has no voice overs, it can get tedious after a while.

The combat system is surprisingly enjoyable. It’s not simulated like a lot of RPG games I have encountered in recent months. It is turn-based and you can somewhat decide the type of attacks you want to dish out before you finish your turn. The combat gameplay is not as robust like in a Final Fantasy title, but its fun to play and easy for beginners to grasp.

The game gets even more fun the longer you play it. Allies are able to join your party and then you can get some pets to join you in your journey. Not to mention you can upgrade your character so that they can become more powerful. It is entertaining as you progress even though it can get repetitive at times. Overall, Dragonbone Dynasty is a very fun game, although it may not add anything new to the table. This game is fun enough for beginners to try or any RPG fan in general. Just don’t expect to experience anything innovative if you have played other RPG titles in the past.
