Total Battle Game Review

Total Battle is a free to play MMORTS that you can play online. The game is playable on Facebook, on mobile devices or on the official website. The cool thing about the game is that you can play the game directly via a web browser so you don’t have to download a big amount of data. The only thing worth mentioning is that the game takes a long time to initially load no matter how powerful your computer might be. This is a bit of a shame, but it does make sure the game should be playable for just about anyone that has an internet connection.

Much like many other RTS video games, Total Battle starts off with a tutorial teaching the player the basics of playing the game itself. The tutorial lasts for around 10 minutes so it’s not lengthy, although you will have to read a lot of text and remember a lot of gaming mechanics. The game basically plays like other RTS titles of the same genre. Here in Total Battle , you take control of an Emperor that is in charge of in Empire in ancient Rome. Aside from taking care of a city, the main thing you will do is take charge of an army. This includes recruiting and training many soldiers so that they can fight big enemies or invade other cities to show your army’s power and status.

However, you cannot simply always fight in this game because you need to make sure you have enough resources in order to keep your city running. Thankfully, the start of the game is generous because you are given enough resources to speed up production and train your soldiers. You can also level up certain buildings and more to make your city flourish.

Total Battle Combat Gameplay

In terms of actual combat gameplay, sadly Total Battle fails in that area. All you really do is visit a separate screen on the world map to click and choose who you want to fight and that’s about it. In the world map, you have a choice of targeting huge monsters or any other player that’s in the same lobby as you.

However, you sadly don’t even get to see much action as there is no battle animation seen in this game. All you see is your soldiers walking to the area they are going to fight and then a results screen pops up. It’s disappointing that there is no actual gameplay involved in battles, but this should appeal to real hardcore RTS fans. Another thing I don’t like about the game is that the more you play it, the longer it takes for buildings to be complete. You almost have to pay real money in order to speed up production which can get annoying. I know this is a free to play game, but “waiting” for something to happen is always one of the worst gaming mechanics of all.

Total Battle Final Verdict by Us

Graphically, there’s not much I can say about the visuals of Total Battle. Sure the user interface is clean and easy to follow, but the graphics are nothing fancy or exciting to look at. Not to mention there’s no voice acting or cool music to make the game exciting. This has very simple presentation skills that may or may not appeal to a lot of people. That being said, I do admire the fact that this game has a lot of value because you can get involved in the mechanics for several hours. It’s also a game that will challenge you especially if you go up against other real players. Anyway, Total Battle is worth playing if you like RTS style of video games. Just don’t expect to see anything unique because this game plays like any other RTS game out there.
