The game is unfortunately not an adventure-based RPG game and is only a turn-based battle where you have to face up against one character and several of his minions. There's only one screen presented in front of you and all you have to do it pick which attack you want to execute, or to sit back and defend against your enemies' attacks. The graphics of the game are exactly identical to the animation of the cartoon. Since everything takes place in one scene, it's great to see how detailed each character is. The attacks are well animated too with a mix of fire, water and other elemental types. The one thing that may deter your enjoyment of the game is its hard learning curve and difficulty. You will have to plan and strategize your next moves carefully or else, the odds will certainly overwhelm you. Since you control Aang (the main protagonist) he's not all the powerful compared to your opponent Zuko. It's also not fair that Zuko can summon more minions for himself and therefore, it takes even longer for you to defeat him as you'll have to dispatch attacks on his buddies too. The one helpful thing this game provides is that it will tell you when it is the best time to block. This was a lifesaver since there will be up to four or maybe five other people attacking you all at once. The music can be a bit loud and annoying as well. Although it is supposed to be an epic orchestral piece supporting the heat of battle, I still felt the music was repetitive and not very soothing to the ears. It will also take you a long time to defeat Zuko. Since this is a turn-based RPG style battle, you will have to sit and wait until your enemies have all attacked first until you can fight back. Not to mention his life bar does not deplete at a fast pace. If you have the patience and skill to persevere in this game, then you may find some enjoyment to it. Avatar: The Last Airbender is not a bad game, but it won't be for everyone's liking. RPG and fans of the animated show, will get the most fun out of this little online game. But if you're more into action style of gameplay, then I'd advise you to look elsewhere. The turn-based gameplay is just too slow for fighting game fans to enjoy.

DownWorld Game Review

Downworld is a free to play puzzle RPG game. It plays similar to the famous Puzzle Quest games so if you are familiar with those games,you will feel right at home playing Downworld. Much like most other RPG games on the market, you have the freedom to choose the appearance of your main character before you venture off on your big adventure. The one thing that is different about Downworld over Puzzle Quest is that this is strictly a 2D game played on a 2D plane. It plays like a 2D platforming game as the only direction you can walk is to the right of the screen. There are no towns to explore or stores to shop in like in the Puzzle Quests games. Fans of the Puzzle Quest series may be disappointed about this, however its style of gameplay will be easy enough for beginners to master. As this is also a puzzle game, combat is played in the form of a traditional brick breaking game against your opponent. The objective in each battle is to decrease your opponents health bar by breaking the right colored blocks. In order to do this, you must match the right colors so three of the same colored blocks are matched alongside one another vertically or horizontally. Different colors will deal more damage to your opponent, so it pays to be patient in this game and choose your moves wisely. When you attack your opponent, you earn something called flow. When you earn enough flow, only then you are able to unleash some of your devastating attacks. Some of these techniques vary depending on the types of upgrades you choose for your character. They might include techniques that increase your attack power, or a shield to protect you from your opponents attacks. It pays to upgrade your character wisely and evenly as some enemies might exploit your weaknesses if you dont improve your characters stats properly. A great feature in the game is that youre able to leave the game world to enter the arena. It is here where you can meet and challenge other players around the world who are playing Downworld. You are free to chat with them to ask for advice, or you can battle to see who the better player is. I encountered many gamers in Downworld so you dont have to worry about not being able to meet anyone in the game. Graphically, the 2D style animations are great to look at. It feels much like youre inside a living and breathing cartoon. Anyone who will see you play Downworld might think that youre actually watching a Saturday morning cartoon thats how impressive the visuals are in Downworld! There are several levels that you can explore in Downworld and each of them is illustrated beautifully. The game world is very large as there are five different worlds that you can traverse with each of them harboring many levels. Players can expect to have hours of fun playing Downworld as the game is very epic in scope.

Imperian Imperian has got to be the most unique video game I have ever played. Essentially its more like an interactive book than a traditional video game with graphics and pretty visuals. This is because the entire game is played out via text boxes. Normally in RPG games, text boxes are used when a character is speaking. In Imperian however, everything is controlled via text and its up to your imagination and quick mind to navigate your way through the game. Choosing your character can be a bit misleading at the start of the game. I chose to be a big cave troll and expected to use my brute strength to battle countless orcs. My assumption about this game was wrong once I realized that everything was text based. The game starts almost instantly as the text reads that you are trapped in a maze and have nowhere to go. That is until your tutorial guide named Mathyus helps you familiarize yourself through Imperians unorthodox style of gameplay. The whole game is pretty much based inside a maze and you have to type in commands to navigate your way. For example if you want to go north, you simply just have to type in N to go in that direction. The same thing holds true if you want to go in any other direction too.
