Crazy Fairies

Crazy Fairies Crazy Fairies Review Crazy Fairies is a free to play turn based strategy video game that you can play online. Despite the games impressive 3D visuals and presentation, its browser based and you can play the game just by opening your web browser or via Facebook. If you have played the famous Worms games before, you will have a slight idea of how addictive and fun these type of games can be. Like with most free to play video games, you start off by choosing a character youd like to play as. You cannot alter the appearance of the characters of the game, but there is a choice of eight humorously looking people you can be in this game. The characters look not too dissimilar to that of the sack people from the LittleBigPlanet series. The characters you can be include Death, a Princess, Robin Hood, a Cat and many other weird and wonderful looking people. The game itself plays very similarly to the long running Worms series. That is to say that you are placed on a 2D playing field where the goal is for you to eliminate all of your opponents on the opposing team. This is easier said than done because your maths skill of angles and calculating the right trajectory to throw objects at your enemies plays a huge factor on winning in this game. This is because all of the weapons that are featured in this game are projectiles that you need to throw. In order for you to throw objects, there are two things you need to consider to make sure you hit your target accurately. First of all, you need to control the angle of where you want to throw your weapon at. You can do this simply by pressing the up ordownarrow keys. Obviously throwing at a 45 degree angle is best, but you will need to adjust the angle constantly depending on where the enemy is positioned at. The other thing you have to take into consideration is the amount of power you want to throw your deadly object at. You can do this by pressing and holding on the space bar. The longer you hold onto the space bar, the more powerful your projectile throw will be. You will have to make sure you dont press too hard as you might miss your target entirely by putting too much power on your throw. Alternatively, you dont want to press too lightly or else you might hurt yourself by letting your weapon drop onto your own feet! To make battles even more difficult, you only have 15 seconds to make adjustments and calculations for each turn. If you miss your opportunity, then your opponent can capitalize on your mistake and damage you first. Not to mention that each character has a very small energy bar that only allows them to walk around the level for a few small steps per turn. Comparisons with Crazy Fairies and the Worms series are inevitable and there are few things that I think are still missing in Crazy Fairies that could have made it a much better game. One crucial element that is missing is a jump button. Sometimes your enemies projectiles will create holes into the game world and characters will eventually fall inside them. In the Worms series, you can jump your way out of these holes and continue the battle without too much hassle. In this game however, you get stuck inside holes since characters are unable to walk out of areas that are too steep to climb. This happened to me quite a few times and it was very annoying trying to dig myself out of the many holes that my enemies created. Another thing I did not like was that there were no other ways to kill enemies like a punch or another type of attack that is appropriate for close-quarters combat. If you or an enemy somehow get very close to one another, youll have to just fire a projectile that will damage both of you because of this limitation. Despite this, the number of weapons that you can use in this game is diverse and it can be fun trying to experiment with which one suits you best. One of my personal favourites to use is called the dwarf cannon which is pretty much a big bazooka that has a really big blast radius. Thors Hammer is pretty popular with other gamers too since you dont need to be too accurate while throwing this weapon. This is because the hammers lightning can strike enemies even though the hammer might land just a few feet short on an opponent. Some other helpful weapons include arrows that allow you to throw more than one projectile at a time. This is useful if you want to hit more than one enemy at a time. Other than the cool weapons you can use in this game, there are also cards that you can collect that aid can aid you in battle in many different ways. This includes a shield that protects you from an enemys attack for one turn, a card that replenishes you health, and one that allows you to get an extra turn. There are lots of other cards that you can obtain after each and every battle you participate in. You can only have up to five cards that you can bring into each battle and cards can only be used once. After youve used them, youll have to pray that you can collect that specific card again. In my opinion, this card feature is really unique and a great feature that was never featured in any of the Worms games. There are four main modes that you can participate in. This includes a training, duel, team and PvE. The training level is where you can practise all of the weapons youve obtained so far. Its pretty helpful in determining which weapon is best for you to use. The duel is a simple one-on-one battle with a real player. Its a fun mode as there are lots of players that you can face off against since this game is available worldwide and is free to play. The team mode is similar to the duel mode, although you will play against and with other players in a team-based battle. Four players can join in on one team and face each other in a battle to the death. PvE is a unique mode where you can face off against some of the tough bosses the game has to offer. You can do this alone or with other players. The level design is excellent and there are lots of unique places you can visit in this game. Overall, there are 12 levels in total and each of them has their own unique style. Some of the levels are based off of popular kids books as there is a Jack and the Beanstalk, Sinbads Ship and Rapunzels Towerare all included in this game. The presentation and graphics in Crazy Fairies is phenomenal. The characters are very detailed and the colors are bright and cheerful. Despite the games excellent graphics, its great to know that the game is fast at loading too. Not to mention that the music is great to listen to as well. The only thing I think that is missing is any voice overs. One of the thing I loved about the Worms series is the amount of trash talking the worms said to one another during battles. Crazy Fairies is one of the best free to play video games Ive played in many months. The level of detail put into this game is amazing and the gameplay is addictively enjoyable. It may suffer from a few gameplay flaws here and there, but theyre not enough to hinder the game too severely. If youre like me and grew up playing the Worms games back in the 90s, youll love this 2012 homage to the classic series with Crazy Fairies.
